This is an 4-day Pro certification Hands-on Course that includes a total of 20 hours at the JTorry Makeup Academy. This comprehensive training will enhance your confidence while applying makeup to other people’s faces, and you’ll be able to communicate any concerns you have and hone in your technique and methods you’d like to improve.

JTorry Makeup Academy is conveniently located in North Dallas off I-635 and Coit. Our full address is 13151 Emily Rd. Ste 210 A, Dallas, TX 75240. We are on the second floor of the white office building, and we have plenty of visitor parking spots available just behind the building.

We are looking for students who are interested in and have the drive to become working Professional Bridal & Special Event Makeup Artist.
The JTorry Makeup Academy is aimed at people who want to have a career as certified professional Makeup Artist who wants to specialize in Bridal and Special Event Beauty Services. You will get personalized training with one of the leading industry founders, Jenny Torry, owner of JTorry Makeup + Hair Artistry & JTorry Makeup Academy. Students will be fortunate to experience a life-changing opportunity to be mentored by Jenny and her team of expert makeup artists.

Students can expect a more intimate setting since classes are capped at 4-10 students per session. This gives each student a more personalized experience where they can fully develop their skills in order to become truly successful in the Bridal & Special Event industry.
No, you don’t need prior experience to take the course. As long as you know that it is your passion and you are willing to work hard to become a professional Makeup Artist, then we highly encourage you to enroll. Here at JTorry Makeup Academy, we will train you with the skills and techniques of a professional so you can become a highly-confident makeup artist.
Yes, all instructions that will be given are in English including quizzes and the final exam. Being able to read and understand English is necessary.
You will learn everything that you need to know in order to become a certified Professional Makeup Artist. You will learn the basics and advanced techniques and skills for the following areas:
Business Foundation: We will give you the necessary information on how to start your own makeup business; what the requirements are, booking policy, effective client communication etc.
Skin Prep: We will teach you how to correctly and professionally prepare your client’s skin in preparation for applying the makeup flawlessly. You will learn how to find and blend colors to match your client’s needs, among others.
Flawless Foundation Application
Eyes: You will learn professional techniques on color blending, popular eye makeup looks, applying eyeliner on clients, dress various eye shapes and lash applications.
Eyebrow Shaping/Sculpting
Highlighting and Contouring: This is one of the hottest trends in the market. You will gain the skills on how to highlight and contour correctly and professionally, leaving your client’s faces looking flawless every time.
Lips/Blush Application
Sanitation Practices

The In-Person Course is for students that will be coming in to scheduled classes to receive hands-on training while the Online Course is a self-paced online class that students can take anytime, anywhere.
We offer 3 options to take the makeup course. We have (a) an 8 Days In-Person Experience Program, (b) an 8 Nights In-Person Experience Program, and (c) an Online Experience Class. Both the In-Person Experience Programs last for 32 hours.
8 Days In-Person Experience – This program is spread over 2 weeks; 4 days per week. Each class session lasts for 4 hours each day, starting at 10 am to 2 pm on a weekday.
8 Nights In-Person Experience – Similarly, this program is spread over 2 weeks; 4 days per week for the 2 weeks. Each class session is 4 hours, starting at 6 pm to 10 pm on a weekday. This program is offered to people who work full-time during the day and only have the availability at nights to pursue their dream as a makeup artist
Online Experience – This is a self-paced course that students can take online at the comfort of their homes. You can go through the course as quickly as you want or slowly but surely, at your own convenience.
Yes, after you complete the program and pass the final exam, you will receive a Certificate stating that you are a Certified Professional Makeup Artist.
Yes, you will need to have a fully stocked makeup kit to work with.
Not to worry, we have a kit list that you can get here: and you will get the products that you know that are needed in the kit. And when you are in class we do have products that we can lend to you to use during class. However it’s important that you do put together your kit as a professional makeup artist.
After graduating from our Academy, our students will have the option to start a career out of Makeup Artistry or launch their own business. We will continue to provide support because we truly want our students to succeed. We created a group for the JTorry Makeup Academy alumni where all the graduates are added. This network page allows the graduates to stay connected with each other and they are encouraged to provide support to one another.
No. In the state of Texas, the State Board of Cosmetology does not require individuals to have a license to do makeup professionally. Check with your respective state for the specific requirements.

Since each state has its own license requirements when it comes to the makeup and hair industry, then we cannot guarantee as to the benefit of the certificate outside of Texas.
Once you have completed the program you will receive a JTorry Professional Makeup Artist Certification from JTorry Makeup Academy. The certificate is proof that you have been fully trained in the art of beauty and bridal makeup from our Academy. This program requires the students physically come to the JTorry Studio for actual hands-on training under the guidance of expert makeup artists.
You can bring your own makeup products. Alternatively, you can purchase the Pro-Starter Makeup Kit exclusively available for JTorry Makeup Academy In-Person Experience students. Once you have paid your deposit and secured your enrollment, you will be receiving a list of our preferred makeup products. This includes the preferred makeup brushes that we regularly use. We encourage you to bring what you already have as well as other makeup products that are similar to the list that we will be sending you.
The Starter Professional Makeup Kit is exclusively available for purchase to registered In-Person JTorry Makeup Academy students for $1299 (8.25% tax included).
Starter Pro Makeup Kit – This kit is perfect for any beginning Makeup Artist to start and build on. This kit is fully equipped and stocked with professional items that JTorry uses on her clients. The list of specific products included in the kit is disclosed as soon as you are officially enrolled.
The JTorry starter Pro Kit is fully stocked with the key products that are handpicked by Jenny Torry herself. These products are what she uses on her clients. The kit will serve as an essential tool that will allow you to work on your clients immediately and help build your successful makeup artistry business.
The program is perfect for any aspiring makeup artists who are available to come in person to the JTorry Makeup Academy located at 13151 Emily Road, Suite 210 A, Dallas, TX 75240.
We offer two options for the In-Person Course: (1) an 8-Day Program and (b) an 8-Night Program. All courses last for 32 hours and spread over 3 weeks; 3 days per week for the first 2 weeks and only 2 days for the final week. All classes are held on a weekday. Each class will last for 4 hours, starting at 10 am to 2 pm for the day classes and 6 pm to 10 pm for the night classes.
You will be required to pay half of the tuition fee to reserve your spot in class. The remaining balance will have to be settled 3 days before the class starts. There is no need to fill up the form again. Check our payment methods for available options.

Yes, we offer night classes. This program lasts for three weeks and requires 4 hours a day, starting at 6 pm to 10 pm on a weekday. The schedule is great for those who work during the day and only have availability in the evening to pursue their dream as a makeup artist. As of now we only have night classes available.

Although we know life happens, there will be no makeup classes as we value the time of all students. Please understand that your classmates are also making sacrifices to attend all the courses so please be courteous to your fellow classmates and make arrangements to attend all 8 classes.
Once you have paid the deposit and confirmed your enrollment, we will send you a list of recommended makeup products and makeup brushes to bring. Please plan on bringing what you already have as well as other makeup products that are similar to those in the list that we will send you.
We do provide a Custom Professional Makeup Kit that our students can buy. Jenny has hand-picked all the makeup products and has tested them to make sure that they meet the high standard of makeup quality in providing excellent makeup service for any client.
The Pro Starter Makeup Kit – This kit is fully-equipped with professional makeup items that JTorry personally uses on her clients. You will have the option to purchase the kit at least one week before the start date to ensure that everything is in it.
Yes, you will have homework that you must complete. Be prepared to ask as many friends or family members to lend their faces for your homework during the duration of the course.
We offer day and night courses but currently we’re only open to night classes.
